Interesting facts

A Black Ribbon for Deborah is a 1974 Italian horror film directed by Marcello Andrei, and starring Bradford Dillman, Marina Malfatti and Gig Young.

Production

Director Marcello Andrei and his co-writers originally conceived the film with an original idea of a dying woman passing the child she is bearing to another person. Giuseppe Pulieri stated that the script he worked on was ruined by a producer's attempt to exploit the film as part of the "demonic possession" cycle of films.

The film began shooting in Rome on May 13, 1974.

José Ferrer was originally cast as Ofenbauer, but was replaced by Gig Young shortly before filming began.
