편견이 많은 한 프랑스계 페루 여성이 남편에게 버림받은 후, 경제적 궁핍을 극복하고자 자기 집을 식당으로 개조한다. 1965년 번영과 혼돈이 공존하던 리마를 배경으로 그는 일본계 셰프, 원주민 요리사, 그리고 아프리카계 페루인 운전사와 함께하며 페루의 문화적, 요리적 다양성을 발견해 나간다.
