Woman Holding Perspective (2020)
遠近を抱えた女
When the outer and inner worlds cross, I become more supple
A stage actress lives between two worlds: the fiction of the theatre and the reality of her work in the sex trade. Played by Ayumi Abe, a leading actor of the theatre company Saisei, she senses both worlds keenly and gently takes them in. The title’s “perspective” refers to the point where the vast world outside the self meets the inner world hidden in its depths. Directed by the artist Nobuyuki Oura, this art documentary-drama follows a woman who lives plainly and honestly, with a supple, resilient vitality. A 126-minute complete edition was released in Japanese cinemas in October 2026.
