A Legend or Was It? , also known as Legend of a Duel to the Death, is a 1963 Japanese drama film written and directed by Keisuke Kinoshita. It is considered one of Kinoshita's darkest films, marking a shift from his generally "safer" domestic dramas to a more cynical tone criticizing Japan's wartime collectivism.
