Uno scrittore di scarso talento scopre che una specie di ratti si è alleata per impersonare gli umani e soppiantarli inosservata, in un modo che ricorda le trasformazioni di "Rhinoceros" di Eugene Ionesco, o la cospirazione segreta degli esseri-baccello ne "L'invasione degli ultracorpi". La storia di questo film è basata su un libro dello scrittore sovietico Alexander Grin.

The Rat Saviour or The Redeemer is a 1976 Croatian fantasy horror film directed by Krsto Papić. It was awarded as the best film at the 1977 International Science Fiction Film Festival in Trieste, the 1980 Paris International Festival of Fantastic and Science-Fiction Film and 1982 Fantasporto. The film was selected as the Yugoslav entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 49th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
