Black Water Creek (1998)

An unsatisfying Bingo game on The Rez prompts two young women to go on a road trip, resulting in a dramatic encounter. Here, the private refuge of female friendship gets complicated by the public weight of community crisis. An early work from community-based Anishnaabe filmmaker Darlene Naponse, whose feature films now screen internationally.
