한 시골 마을. 떠돌이 점술가가 어린 소년 세나의 손금을 보고 그가 신비로운 치유 능력을 지녔다고 예언한다. 세나는 예상치 못한 명성을 얻고 사람들에게 존경받지만 점차 마을 사람들은 그의 능력을 미신과 연관지어 두려워한다. 결국 세나는 마을에서 쫓겨난다.

흥미로운 사실
Rekava is a 1956 film based on village life and mythical beliefs in Sri Lanka. It was the first Sinhala film to be shot entirely in Ceylon, using outdoor locations across the country. The film is also regarded as the first Sri Lankan production free from Indian influence. At the time, many Sinhala films were remakes of South Indian movies, often failing to reflect the local context and featuring stilted, unnatural dialogue.
