1625: Der junge D'Artagnan (Rinal Mukhametow) macht sich auf nach Paris, um ein ehrenwertes Musketier zu werden; doch dort angekommen verliebt er sich Hals über Kopf in die anmutige und schöne, aber verheiratete Constance (Anna Starschenbaum). Das ist der Auftakt zu einem gefährlichen Abenteuer, denn D'Artagnan wird in einen Juwelenraub verwickelt, der von dem machtgierigen Kardinal Richelieu (Wassili Lanowoi) angezettelt wurde, dessen Absicht es ist, auf diesem Wege Frankreich in einen Krieg mit England zu manövrieren. D'Artagnan stellt sich den bösen Intrigen mit seinem unerschütterlichen Mut entgegen. Dabei wird der junge Heißsporn von den königlichen Musketieren Athos (Yuri Chursin), Aramis (Pawel Barschak) und Porthos (Aleksei Makarov) unterstützt – allerdings erst, nachdem er sich mit ihnen duelliert hat.

The Three Musketeers is a 2013 Russian historical adventure film based on the 1844 novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, père. It was produced by The Production Center of Sergei Zhigunov.

Production

According to director Sergey Zhigunov, "I tried to collect an ensemble of artists of high level (I do not have time and effort to educate people on the site), known but which are old-old in the audience.
