Wild Seed

Dopo aver appreso (leggendo alcune lettere conservate dalla madre) che il padre naturale aveva dovuto separarsi da lei prima della sua stessa nascita, la diciassettenne Daffy fugge di casa e dalla costa orientale si dirige verso Los Angeles, dove potrà finalmente conoscere il genitore. Ad accompagnare e proteggere la ragazza sulle strade d'America c'è Fargo, uno spirito libero incontrato in viaggio.

Production

The film was originally known as Daffy. The script originally was written in 1957 and sold to Marlon Brando's company, Pennebaker Productions. Initially considered as a starring vehicle for Brando, the actor was deemed too old for the part. The film was shot in 24 days. Producer Ruddy had two endings filmed: One with the lovers going their separate ways; the other with them staying together.
