The Device
애비와 레베카 자매는 어릴 때 레베카가 남자친구 에게 납치를 당했다가 다시 돌아온다. 그 이후 서로 같이 살지 못한채 살아간다 어머니가 돌아신 소식을 듣고 다시 만나게 된 자매 함께 살던 오두막에서 시간을 보낸다. 어느날 오두막 뒤에서 이상한 공을 줍게 된다. 애비의 약혼자인 캘빈은 그 공에 흥미를 느끼게 되고, 그 공에 집착을 보이기 시작한다. 급기야 매일밤 그 공을 가지고 지하실에서 시간을 보내게 된다. 애비는 그런 캘빈 에게 서운함을 느끼게 되고 임신한 사실을 알게 된다. 그 사실을 알리나 캘빈은 그 아이는 외계인의 아이라며 거부를 하기 시작한다. 더 놀라운 사실은 레베카는 남자친구가 아닌 외계인에게 납치된 사실을 알게 되는데..

The Device is a 2014 American science fiction horror film directed by Jeremy Berg. It stars Angela DiMarco and Kate Alden as sisters who must deal with an alien abduction after one's husband, played by David S. Hogan, becomes obsessed with a strange black ball.
Production
Writer-director Berg pitched the concept of the film – a couple who find an object of possibly alien origin – to Ruthless Pictures after they distributed his previous film, The Invoking. Co-writer and producer John Portanova had wanted to write an alien abduction screenplay for a long time, but he experienced writer's block on the second act. Portanova used Berg's ideas to fill in the missing parts.
