Yanky Clippers

Yanky Clippers (1929)

A puppy is forced into a barber shop run by Oswald the Rabbit. Oswald can't shave the dog's back at first, as the hair keeps growing back. He eventually realizes the mutt's drinking hair tonic and so he takes the bottle away and finishes the job. A hippo's next in line, then an elephant, then a truculent and lascivious bear, all with equally humorous results.

Interesting facts

Yanky Clippers is a 1929 American animated short film directed by Walter Lantz and Tom Palmer. It is the last silent film to star Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, as the success of series creator Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse series led to Winkler pivoting to sound cartoons. It is among the few Oswald shorts produced after Walt Disney's departure and before Universal Pictures founded their own studio known to still exist.
