கடுகு (2017)

豆知識

Kadugu (transl. Mustard) is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written, produced and directed by Vijay Milton. The film features an ensemble cast of Bharath, Rajakumaran, Radhika Prasidhha, Subiksha, Bharath Seeni and A. Venkatesh. Distributed by actor Suriya, the film had a theatrical release on 24 March 2017 and won positive reviews from critics. The director remade the movie for his Kannada directorial debut Bairagee (2022).

Production

In May 2014, Vijay Milton announced his interest in directing actor T. Rajender for a film about a person who goes from "zero" to "hero". Milton later became busy with the production of 10 Endrathukulla (2015) and was later unsuccessful in convincing Rajender to be a part of the project. He subsequently signed on Rajakumaran to portray the lead role of a puli vesham artist.

After watching and being impressed by a pre-release screening of the film, actor Suriya chose to purchase the distribution rights and give it a wide release across Tamil Nadu through his 2D Entertainment banner.
