Interesting facts

Here Come the Waves is a 1944 American romantic musical comedy film directed by Mark Sandrich and starring Bing Crosby, Betty Hutton and Sonny Tufts, with Ann Doran, Gwen Crawford, Noel Neill, Catherine Craig and Anabel Shaw. Produced and released by Paramount Pictures, the film introduced the song "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive", written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer and sung by Crosby and Tufts in the film.

Production

The film was the first directed by Sandrich under his new revised contract to Paramount, calling for a film a year to be directed by him. Here Come The Waves was the last film of Sandrich's career as he died suddenly of a heart attack in March, 1945.

The film's working title was "Song of the Waves" and it was originally meant to be produced in Technicolor.

Filming took place between May to August, 1944.

Director Mark Sandrich discussed his plans for the film with Mildred H. McAfee, the director of the WAVES, to make the film as accurate as possible.
