Codex (1986)

Codex is inspired by the Codex Serafinianus, an unusual scientific encyclopedia with strange drawings, written in an untranslatable language, fascinating grimoire that invents the laws of a delusional world ... Hence the mutant beings, microbes and imaginary silhouettes of the spectacle of Philippe Decouflé. The images bounce back and forth, populated by fantastic animals, imaginary plants and "live vegetables". It is a hallucinatory journey where palmated men rub shoulders with protean microbes.
