A Corner in Wheat

On a whim, a greedy tycoon decides to corner the world market in wheat. This doubles the price of bread, forcing grain producers into charity lines and others further into poverty. The film contrasts the differences between the lives of those who work to grow the wheat and the life of the man who dabbles in its sale for profit.

L'accaparramento del frumento, anche noto in italiano come L'accaparramento del grano è un film del 1909 diretto da David Wark Griffith. Prodotto dalla Biograph Company, il cortometraggio è un adattamento di due opere di Frank Norris, il romanzo The Pit e il racconto A Deal in Wheat. Fu girato dal 3 al 13 novembre principalmente negli studi della Biograph, mentre alcune scene in esterni furono girate a Jamaica, un quartiere dell'odierno Queens. Uscì nelle sale statunitensi il 13 dicembre 1909.
