About the life of Soviet students. A group of students-graduates of a medical institute organizes a farewell party. The secretary of the regional Komsomol committee unexpectedly appears and starts openly agitating sexual promiscuity. The party turns into an ugly drunkenness.

La Loi de la vie est un film dramatique soviétique réalisé par Aleksandr Stolper et Boris Ivanov (ru), sorti en 1940.
Production
La première projection du film eut lieu au Comité central du Komsomol. À l'issue d'une discussion préliminaire, il fut décidé de remanier le film, ce pour quoi les réalisateurs firent appel à Sergueï Iermolinski (ru). Aleksandr Avdeïenko (ru) étant alors en reportage pour le journal Pravda, il ne put participer à la réécriture du scénario.
À la suite de ces modifications, une scène avec un crâne (« Boire ou ne pas boire ? Telle est la question ») parodiant Hamlet est notamment ajoutée — Avdeïenko a nié que cette scène figurait à l'origine dans son scénario.
