Thillalangadi (transl. Defiler) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by M. Raja. A remake of the 2009 Telugu film Kick, it stars Raja's brother Ravi Mohan along with Tamannaah Bhatia and Shaam, who reprises his role from Kick, and a supporting cast including Prabhu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Sanchita Shetty. It depicts the story of a brilliant student who has excelled in all aspects of life but loves to have an adventure in his life and would do anything just to experience this kick (addiction). The film, produced by Raja's father Editor Mohan and distributed by Sun Pictures, was released on 23 July 2010.

Production

After the success of the Telugu film Kick in early May 2009, Editor Mohan purchased the remake rights for the Tamil version later the same month. While Mohan himself would produce the film, his elder son Raja was made the director, and younger son Ravi would play the lead role. Shaam, who played a vital role in the Telugu version, took up the same the role in Tamil.

The film was predominantly shot at Malaysia. A car chase sequence there was filmed with three cameras simultaneously. Scenes were also shot at the Petronas Towers and the Singapore-Malaysian railway line. On 1 October, the 2009 Sumatra earthquakes affected Kuala Lumpur, where the team of Thillalangadi were filming but they survived it.
