Vaamanan is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by I. Ahmed in his directorial debut, and produced by Dream Valley Corporation. The film stars Jai, Rahman, Priya Anand, Lakshmi Rai, and Santhanam, while Urvashi, Sampath Raj, and Thalaivasal Vijay play supporting roles. It revolves around a man who comes to Chennai to pursue an acting career, but instead becomes embroiled in a political conspiracy.

Production

Vaamanan is the directorial debut of I. Ahmed. He chose to cast Jai as the lead actor after being impressed with his performance in Chennai 600028 (2007), and though the actor was committed to Subramaniapuram (2008), Ahmed decided to wait till he was available. The film was launched on 10 September 2008 at Krishnaveni House, Chennai.
