The Masquerade Cop (1910)

Blinks dresses as a cop for a masquerade ball, but strangers mistake him for a real officer. First, a streetcar conductor orders him to handle an unruly smoker, who promptly throws Blinks off the car. Next, he tries to intervene in a marital dispute, only for the angry couple to toss him out a window. After shamefully hiding from a bully behind a woman's skirt, Blinks is arrested by a real policeman for impersonation. Stripped of his uniform, he is sent home in a barrel, thoroughly humiliated.
