Clarence (1922)

Clarence Smith is an ex-soldier who is hired for odd jobs by Mr. Wheeler primarily because he has overheard a family argument. And the Wheeler household is going through quite a bit of turmoil -- Mrs. Wheeler feels neglected by her husband and is jealous of Violet Pinney, the governess. Daughter Cora is planning to elope with her father's secretary, Hubert Stem. Son Bobby, meanwhile, has been making passes at the maid.

Clarence è un film muto del 1922 diretto da William C. deMille. Presentato in prima il 15 ottobre 1922 e distribuito dalla Paramount e dalla Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, che lo aveva anche prodotto, il film era interpretato da Wallace Reid e da Agnes Ayres. Fu uno degli ultimi film di Reid che morì qualche tempo dopo, nel gennaio del 1923, tre mesi dopo l'uscita del film nelle sale.

Produzione

La Famous Players-Lasky Corporation produsse il film nel 1922 che venne girato nel luglio 1922 fino ai primi di agosto. La storia è tratta da una commedia di Booth Tarkington che venne adattata per lo schermo in altre versioni cinematografiche, quali Clarence, film diretto da George Archainbaud.
