雷克斯·英格拉姆

简介

雷克斯·英格拉姆的电影生涯始于布景设计师和画家。他的导演处女作是《大问题》(1916)。作为一位真正的电影大师，英格拉姆厌恶好莱坞体系中的商业谈判。他对美国作家的写作水平也不满意。这促使他与维森特·布拉斯科·伊巴涅斯等外国作家合作，从而为年轻的鲁道夫·瓦伦蒂诺提供了第一个重要角色。英格拉姆是埃里希·冯·施特罗海姆的挚友，施特罗海姆和英格拉姆一样都是伟大的电影制作人，但经常严重超支。

1924年，英格拉姆移居法国尼斯，在自己的工作室里执导自己选择的电影，经常与当时的妻子爱丽丝·特里合作。在他的后期职业生涯中，他担任了年轻的迈克尔·鲍威尔的导师。
