The Night of the Hunter

Harry Powell, pastore protestante, uccide alcune vedove per denaro. Uccide anche Willa Harper, ma i suoi due figlioletti gli danno filo da torcere. Riescono a fuggire da lui allontanandosi sul fiume con una barca. In loro soccorso giunge una cara vecchietta, Rachel, che dà rifugio ai bambini abbandonati. Grande fiaba orrorifica, più per atmosfera che per scene violente, resa convincente da una regia secca e originale. Harry come orco, Rachel come fata e i due fratelli come Hansel e Gretel.
